I think this was one, if not the best meal we had in Mexico. My husband and I went today for lunch and everything we had was so delicious! We travel extensively in East Asia and have had our fair share of the delicious Japanese cuisine, and this was on par with the meals there. Highly recommended!

Best and most authentic Japanese food in the south. Owners are Japanese. The restaurant is small and it can get busy on weekends so best to call for a reservation. The paquetes are the best deal, you get 4 appetizers, entre, a drink, and dessert for 200mxn)! My family’s favorites are the torikatsu curry, karague chicken (fried chicken), sakana fry (fried fish), baked salmon. The desserts are also great, especially the coffee jello with ice cream. A true gem if you’re craving Asian food.

Konohanatei is the best Japanese restaurant in the city. The wait time can be a bit long, but it's simply another indicator of how good this place is. I recommend calling beforehand to place a reservation. The food is authentic, and its flavor has been amazing and consistent even after 10 years. Every dish on the menu is tasty, so you can't go wrong. Lastly, the owner has a heart of gold: she treats all her customers kindly and she remembers her regulars. She even reflects this on the prices: vastly more accessible prices and bigger sized portions compared to other Japanese restaurants in the city. There's a reason why my family goes there every other week; it's simply that good.
